Service Description:

Child and Family Well-Being Services:
- works in partnership with families, communities, and natural supports to strengthen family well-being and ensure children and youth can grow up safe, supported, and connected
- provides early help to children, youth, and families who may be experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, harm, with a focus on prevention and least-intrusive supports
- responds to concerns about safety by engaging families in collaborative, strengths-based assessments and planning, in accordance with the Child, Youth and Family Services Act
- prioritizes keeping children and youth safely within their families and communities wherever possible, and provides temporary or longer-term care only when needed to ensure safety
- supports permanency and lifelong connections for children and youth, including through kinship care, customary care, and adoption, along with access to adoption disclosure services
- promotes the best interests, safety, and well-being of children and youth by centering their voices, respecting their identity and culture, and building on family and community strengths
